What actually happens when we install a smart lock
A walk through the six stages of a GTechno installation, and why the inspection matters more than the fitting.
Installing a digital lock is not a fifteen-minute swap. Here is what the process involves and roughly where the time goes.
1. Requirement discussion
We ask who needs access, how often visitors come, and whether you want mobile control. This is what narrows eight product categories down to one or two.
2. Product selection
With the requirement clear, we recommend a specific product and explain the trade-offs rather than simply quoting the most expensive option.
3. Site inspection
The most important stage. We check door thickness, material, frame condition and alignment. Problems found here are cheap to solve; the same problems found during fitting are not.
4. Professional installation
The lock is fitted, aligned and secured by an experienced installer. Alignment is what determines whether the lock still works smoothly in two years.
5. Testing and configuration
The lock is cycled and tested, then configured: users enrolled, access methods set up, app paired if applicable.
6. Training and support
We show every member of the household or team how to use it, how to add and remove access, and what to do if the batteries run low. Then we leave you our number.
